Netscape Communicator 4.73, is currently broken on Debian Woody (Unstable) on the PowerPC. It will (hopefully) be fixed by an upcoming binutils update. For now, you can either use a alien'd version of the LinuxPPC 2000 Netscape Communicator or use another browser like Konqueror or Mozilla. Also, Qt 2.2.1 was broken, previous to this evening (it would cause all Qt programs to die of a linking error), updating it will fix this. Finally, exim isn't working right now, and there is no fix or update yet. Update: It's now safe to apt-get upgrade, again as most of these problems have been now fixed.

Tonight we implemented several fixes that should correct the majority of the display problems and browser incompatabilities. The fixes were done to all of the sites except Nubus, PowerBook and RS6k. Those sites will have the fixes applied over the next day or so. The biggest fix is that the site should display (in a readable form) under Netscape 4.x browsers!!

Using Java in your PPC Linux browser (Mozilla or Konqueror) is not very difficult, yet one has to know how to do it and unfortunately, documentation on the subject is sparse. That's why I hope this small HowTo will be able to help people get it working.
