Last winter there were several requests to setup a screenshot galley so users could submit screenshots of Linux running on their Macs. I created a initial gallery, but things started to get put on hold.
Now it's up, and you can see it here. Obviously this page is work in progress. That page includes instructions on how to submit your own screenshots (so you won't have to just look at mine ;).
Additional sections of iMacLinux will be showing up in the next few weeks, so visit frequently to see the additons.

Anandtech has a complete of the iPod. It's pretty detailed, you'll even see the iPod's inside. They also finally ask the question of how to connect it to something else than MacOS. More info about using the iPod with Linux can be found .

Loki Software, known for porting some popular games to Linux, including Linux on PPC, appearently will stop their business on January 31. An email informing resellers has been sent out and a copy can be found .

Pencam cameras include a lot of small sized cameras which can be both used as a digital snapshot type camera and as a webcam. They are all based on the STV680 chipset by STMicroelectronics.

Ogg Vorbis is a free (as in speech) alternative to Mp3 which is subject to various royalty fees. Ogg Vorbis supports most of the features Mp3 does and is a very flexible audio format, especially for streaming.

Rob Valliere has the major Linux web browsers, Netscape, Mozilla, Galeon and Opera. Please be aware that the latest versions of Netscape and Opera are currently not available for PPC Linux.

The stable 0.6.13 version of has been released. Sketch is the leading free vector drawing program for GNU/Linux and other unices. It's intended to be a flexible and powerful tool for illustrations, diagrams and other purposes.
This latest release of the Vector Drawing application fixes a minor security hole and adds often requested multi-line text handling.

You can find the Apple iPod on Linux project site , it is an effort to get the iPod working with Linux. Its not working yet, but if you have any suggestions or ideas, it looks like they would appreciate it. This project was also given a quick mention on Slashdot's .

The iPod is a great device, but a little pricey in my book. I opted to get the D-Link ROQ-it, which is a USB based MP3 player with a 10GB hard drive for about half the price of the iPod. Of couse USB1.0 is a lot slower than firewire, but after applying a kernel patch, the unit actually works in Linux.

xtunes is a comprehensive digital music system which is closely inspired by Apple's iTunes software. It supports ripping CDs, burning CDs, playing digital music (MP3 and Ogg Vorbis), and organizing digital music in a library with playlists.

Just before last weekend has commited to their CVS a working set of powermac 0.9.x driver series. It supports the chip found on the iMac as well. You need a configured source tree for the kernel you use to compile ALSA and start rocking. And, of course, full-duplex is supported.

According to SlashDot: With the release of Xine v0.9.11a, it is now possible to play back Quicktime movies encoded with the Sorenson SVQ1 encoding natively.
